KURAI SINCLAIR
NEPHILIM, SUBHUMAN X TENKAI
MALE
NINETEEN
HETEROSEXUAL
ART PROFESSOR APPRENTICE
APRIL FIFTEENTH
ELEMENTAL
APPEARANCE
• HEIGHT: 6`3''
• WEIGHT: 187lbs.
Kurai's profile is nothing too special. He's tall, just the like the rest of his family, with deep azure tresses, and blue-gray irises. Perfectly able to be spotted from a distance, he often gets confused with his brother by similar hairstyles and tall figure. His hair his long and parts over his right eye.
Although a little on the pale side, his complexion is fair and soft, especially around the inside of his long lean forearms and the outside of his cheeks, though his slightly enlarged hands can sometimes be rough due to the work that he does. He's not very muscular, though he does have a few seen muscles that are perfectly shaped on his pectorals and abdomen.
As with attire, he doesn't keep up with any trends, nor bother to anyways, so people would find him in casual clothes, though sticking to the slacks and ties occasionally, with a dress shirt, never in a full suit. If by chance anyone catches him in actual casual clothes, he'd stick to clothes that are able to withstand paint and other things that he does, which could run the lines of plaid, to anything loose and comfortable.

PERSONALITY
• MAIN ABILITIES: Element of Wind, Illusions.
• SECOND HAND ABILITIES: Telekinesis, Mind Summoning.
Everyone knows Kurai; he's Kei and Kanako's mysterious brother, the sleepy artist, as most would know him as. He's known for his artwork across Shunojiski because of his love and passion for it. He has the gifted talent of being extremely artistic, therefore he utilizes that in his artwork, aspiring to become a world-renowned artist that people can look up to, and obtain his art from all across the realm and Earth.
Digging deeper, even though Kurai has big dreams, he's not the one for being too social. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't really like conversing much with others, and tends to stick with himself furthest away from people so he could continue his artwork in peace. As most people would guess, he's quite introverted and closed. That being said, not only does he present himself as quite mysterious and quirky, he does pick up on laziness and often finds himself sitting somewhere where he doesn't feel like moving or getting up from.
Although he's busy appearing in art shows, he has the downside of being sleepy all the time, thus giving him the intention of sleeping almost anywhere he can feel comfortable on. The reason being is because he barely sleeps throughout his days because of the art itself, as he's so enveloped within his own world within it to realize how much of a toll it takes on his body.
Kurai's not one to converse with other people, as he spends most of his time either sleeping or working on his art, whether under a tree outside or stashed in the art room in the academy. When he does converse with others, there's a sort of mysterious tone within his voice that normally emits quietly, and can be socially awkward, since he's really not great with speaking to people at all. During art shows, he doesn't say much, but he is able to force himself to speak eloquently. He portrays his emotions within his artwork, which speaks for itself. With that, he's very skilled with getting his point across through something abstract as art.
Comparing him to his siblings, he is the odd one out, and often feels that he's falling behind them as they achieve their status in the realm. Though not a jealous person himself, in fact, he holds high regards to his siblings, and looks up to them.

HISTORY
Kurai Sinclair is the last born out of the Sinclair family's current generation, unintentionally. His entire birth was completely unexpected, troubling his parents as they were in their older years of life when he came to be. But he was welcomed with open arms, as males in the Sinclair family are praised significantly, and was not treated any differently.
His younger years were always about him trying to keep up with his siblings. His childhood mostly revolved around him being taken cared of by them, as his parents were too busy with more important things, so his care was left in the hands of Kei and Kanako. As he grew into the years, within elementary school Kurai was able to adapt fairly well into lots of subjects. His mind was like a sponge; being able to absorb anything said to him and give it back precisely how it was. Thus, he was able to learn instruments at a very young age, as well as find his talents of being a natural artist. He loved the arts very much, and he knew that was what he wanted to be when he grew older, despite any of the other kids criticizing him because of the name he bore for the realm itself. Kurai was always seen by himself, rarely socializing with any of his classmates because he wanted to focus on his newly discovered talent. He was so self-absorbed that people didn't mean much to him, so he kept to himself and ignored others that talked to him, though he was polite when needed be.
His siblings have always tried to get him to be more sociable, but he wasn't having it. He wasn't interested in anything else other than the pictures that he drew, so they gave up trying to change him. However, Kurai always looked up to them, often jealous that their lives seemed completely different from his, wondering why he wasn't the same as them. Despite that, he would always try to follow in their footsteps, taking their scolding at him as more admirable than anything. Kurai became attached to them, especially Kei, inspiring to be as strong and courageous as him.
After his sister left for Guardian training, which he didn't take very well, as he was close to her, Kurai focused more on his artwork and figuring out new ways to challenge himself. By the time he reached eight years old, he was already an artist that many people have seen and praised for, even calling him a prodigy in the Sinclair family. Despite the achievements that he received, his father wasn't the greatest supporter of his decision to pursue being an artist, and naturally asked him to quit it before he taints the family name with "useless pictures". His mother was less harsh about it, but neither of them were able to stop him.
Hitting the age of ten, Kurai received his powers of the Wind Element. It hit him like stone after tripping somewhere off a forest cliff one day and realizing that the wind held him up before he even crashed landed to the ground. Of course, even though he was smart enough to figure out a few things on how to manipulate it off the bat, it wasn't enough to control it, and left him with some cuts and bruises. Nevertheless, after discovering his love for heights, the wind powers felt like it suited him, just like how art does the same.
Between then and fifteen, Kurai had constantly tried to gain more control over his abilities, as well as focus greatly on his art skills. At a young age, much like his siblings, he was taking private lessons on learning how to control his abilities. One day, he encountered a Manor during a walk in the park, though unfortunately for him, he couldn't do much to the Manor, and often forgets about that moment where he almost perished. It wasn't as if Kurai couldn't do it; his powers just wasn't matured and he had no choice but to try and call for help, which took awhile for Kei to come for him before he fainted. To this day, he doesn't know what happened. During this time, there was a lot of Manor activity going on, and Kurai often found himself indoors, while Kei was out in the world protecting the realm as his future predicts he would. A lot of hard times came about, but Kurai was never in the know about what was going on because he knew nothing he would do could ever possibly change anything.
As he entered into the academy at fifteen, he was distant as usual, and decided upon himself to take over the art studio, as it wasn't much of a art studio at the time before him. He was there often than most, skipping classes more than he should. But one day during his freshman year, someone had asked him if he could draw something for them, and naturally he agreed to it and done so. It was supposed to be a logo for this student's band, which piqued his interest slightly as he always had an affinity for music and the culture.
When he brought the painting to them, he realized that the lead singer who had asked him if he could paint them a logo, was kicked out of the band for various reasons. They needed a singer to play for their gig later on that evening, and Kurai being the curiously natured decided to step it up for himself and take a shot at it, with a lot of mental battling in between. Of course the members were surprised, but they could use anyone at that moment who was willing to help. It turned out that Kurai was a better singer than they imagined.
After playing that night, Kurai found himself liking the new singing business and wanted to continue playing with them for a little bit longer. He figured his art needed a rest for a little, so for a few months, he locked up his studio and pursued singing for the majority of his sophomore year of high school. Even around campus, many people have taken a liking to the sound of his voice, and wanted to hear it more. They described it as an invisible painting exploiting it's emotions.
Unfortunately, when Kurai was just about to turn seventeen, he had to stop singing because of the damage to his vocal cords, due to singing improperly that had weakened his ability overtime. He had to make the decision to quit the band to recuperate and to allow his vocal cords time to heal. It wasn't something that took a huge toll on him however, but it did give him the resolve that maybe singing just wasn't for him in the first place. So, he unlocked his art studio once again, and off he went to be immersed back into the world of art where he belonged.
Now being in the present day, Kurai leaves his past behind and focuses more on his studies on becoming an art professor. Sometimes he wishes that he could sing again, and would do so every once in awhile on his own, but he prefers to stay in his own little bubble in the art room, hoping one day he could achieve something in this realm just like his siblings.
