SEIREN MIYAZAKI
NEPHILIM, dark tenkai x tenkai
FEMALE
SIXTEEN
HETEROSEXUAL
SECOND YEAR/ACTRESS
OCTOBER TWENTIETH
EMOTION MANIPULATION
APPEARANCE
Her features are quite striking, a culmination of good genetics and angelic beauty that her race is known for. Petite in size, Seiren stands at just over 5’0” tall and while not particularly curvy, Seiren can be described as slender and on the skinny side. Her bust is of moderate size, around a C-cup. She still holds out on the hope that she will develop more around the chest area and in height. Her skin is porcelain and flawless, a testament to a good skincare regime and genetics.
She has large round eyes that are a dark shade of amethyst and often make her appear to be younger than she actually is. She’s been often told how expressive and captivating her eyes are, almost hypnotising although she swears she’s only an empath. It’s one of her trademarks as an actress. Her hair is a unique shade of lavender with natural curls at the tips and is silky soft to the touch. Her fringe is style in a choppy style to frame her face, and when worn long, her hair falls to about mid-back length. Her signature look is the twin-tails look styled with either hair barrettes or ribbons.
Her wardrobe is very purple oriented, though the style of it can depend on what brand deal she has going on at the moment and what kind of image her company is trying to portray at the time, usually in relation to the projects she’s working on. She can go from cute ‘little sister’ to mysterious and mature the next week, it all depends really and she doesn’t have much say in her appearance. She has a team of people who decides that for her. When she can get away with it, however, Seiren has a favourite black jacket with rabbit ears on the hoodie. She’s extremely fond of it as it was a gift from someone important to her.
She doesn’t carry much on her person besides from her phone, wallet, drawing pad and pepper spray. She’s trained in self-defence for her own safety due to her fame, but isn’t comfortable with carrying a weapon on her person. She relies more on her powers to deter unwanted advances.

PERSONALITY
MAIN ABILITY: Emotion Manipulation & Wind Elemental
The nature of her primary ability as an advanced empath meant that she had to learn very quickly to control it from an early age due to the potential influence she could have on those around her. She has gotten a lot better at reigning in her abilities to a certain range, although touch does still seem to negate any attempts of dampening her powers. As such, Seiren has always been good at reading people, even before the manifestation of her powers. For her, negative emotions are a lot easier to manipulate than positive, but she is learning how to balance it.
She can absorb emotions in small doses without overwhelming herself, however to neutralise another’s emotions completely takes a large drain and affects her more mentally than she would like. The use of her abilities allows her to passively defend herself against any aggressors by forcing them to calm down, or turning their emotions against them.
In association with her advanced empathy, she is able to detect emotional residue in places of past events (usually major events) as though they were happening in that moment. She tends to avoid these places if possible as the emotions are often intense and too much for her to handle.
From her Tenkai heritage, she inherited the ability of wind. While her control over this ability is not as strong as her empathy, she is adept in basic styles of wind manipulation.
SECOND HAND ABILITIES: Invisibility
Her secondary ability is invisibility, which comes in handy when she doesn’t want to be found or escaping from pesky paparazzi. The power itself is pretty self-explanatory. She can disappear at will and maintain an invisible cover for a long period of time.
PERSONALITY: Despite her young age, Seiren is considered a veteran in the acting industry having been on the screens since the age of four, most people would recognise her by appearance alone. She is respected amongst her peers as a professional and hard worker, and is widely known as a down to earth person which seems to be the rarity when it comes to child stars. Her sweet looks and charming personality for the press has endeared her to the general public, though that doesn’t stop the more persistent from trying to find hidden scandals in her life.
She possesses a natural charisma and charm that captivates people on the screen, and confidence in spades. She wouldn’t have gotten this far in the industry with just looks alone. Having the patience and persistence to pursue the roles she wanted, as well as the energy to throw herself headfirst into different roles that has allowed her to avoid being type casted by directors. She enjoys the challenge of discovering a new role and making it her own.
Seiren has always been a natural at reading others, and adjusting her behaviour in response to their emotions. Being an empath, she has always been curious about the spectrum of emotions and does have a hobby of sitting back and observing people at times, wanting to understand why people act the way they do and figure out their motives. She tries not to influence others too much with her powers, but at times she can get overwhelmed, especially in crowds of heightened emotion and may accidentally lash out to try and dampen all the feelings she can feel. Thankfully, those attacks are few in between now as she grew older and her control improved, but there is always the chance that something can trigger her. As such, Seiren is always wary of her own emotions and is more conscious of keeping them in check.
She prefers to avoid conflict when she can, and is generally easy to talk to. Some may be intimidated by her fame, though she is always quick to put them at ease if they do approach her. She tries hard to act the way people expect her to act, and if that means being bubbly and cheerful all the time like what they see on the screens, then that is what she will do. Sometimes she gets tired of it all, her ‘normal’ self being more of an introvert who prefers time to herself, but Seiren is often always surrounded by people and it is enough to wear her around the edges. She copes with this by rebelling against her managers and disappearing for periods at a time when she finds gaps in her schedule. Where she goes depends on her mood, the invisibility helps with shaking off any unwanted tails and often her escapes are to find her friends in the industry to unwind with, usually in the form of alcohol. Lately, she has found solace in art and has taken up on a friend’s offer to borrow their studio when she has the whim. There are very few people whom she will completely drop the act for, including her family, some close friends and her agent whom she practically considers family anyway having known him since she started acting.
Although she finds herself at ease on set, Seiren can’t help but feel out of depth when she attends the academy. She’s used to working and interacting with adults and other people in the industry who all share a similar worldview, which has forced her to grow up quickly in some ways. School on the other hand is a completely different environment where the rules are different. Sure she is popular because of her fame, but Seiren doesn’t actually have a lot of friends her own age. She hides a lot of insecurities behind a confident persona, treating it like any other acting gig, but she tries to not let it bother her too much that she is anything but ‘normal’ and sometimes wonders what it feels like to live under the veil of anonymity. She tries her best to keep up with her peers academically, excelling in subjects relating to literature and the humanities, however struggles more with technical subjects such as maths and science.
Due to her busy schedule and irregular working hours on set that could see her up late at night or early in the morning for a shoot, Seiren is often tired at school. She has developed a habit of falling asleep comfortably on whatever surface she is resting on, oftentimes curling herself up in random nooks of the school during her free periods or at recess or lunch.
Dating is another thing that is unfamiliar to her. Sure she has been in a few romance roles in the past, but it is something she has yet to experience in real life. In this aspect she is quite sheltered, as her agency had forbidden her from dating when she was younger and as she grew older, she would often be brushing off people’s interest as feelings of admiration or something like that. She would be the type of girl who either had to be told upfront with what their intentions are, or would wound up in the middle of a relationship without even realising it and then one day coming to the epiphany that she’s actually in a relationship.

HISTORY
Born on a cool autumn night in the Tenkai realm, Seiren is the only child of Yua and Takumi Miyazaki. It was an unusual, yet not unheard of union, as her mother was a Dark Tenkai and her father a Tenkai. It wasn’t too long after her birth that her parents decided to relocate to Shunojiski, wanting a fresh start for the still young family and a chance to see what life was like outside of the Tenkai realm. Yua was a talented musician who ended up taking up a posting at the Academy as a music teacher, and Takumi finding a position as a lead architect.
They lived a comfortable life for the first few years in Shunojiski, with a thriving young toddler. It was purely by chance that Seiren was scouted by a talent manager in the middle of the shopping centre, her bubbly attitude and unique looks catching their attention. The talent manager, a young woman by the name of Rika Sakai, had taken one look at Seiren and knew she had found the one for a television advertisement she had been in charge of casting. Her parents decided to humour the woman, figuring that it wouldn’t hurt to try and Seiren seemed interested in doing the role. The audition was successfully and she went on to film the short advertisement piece, though none of them were expecting just how quickly the ad would blow up.
What started as a simple advertisement, became a whole series after the brand saw how successful the campaign was. The public couldn’t seem to get enough of the mysterious girl in the advertisements, and it wasn’t long before Rika was contacted with an offer for Seiren to guest star in a TV drama. The decision came down to Seiren in the end, as her parents were supportive either way. They had come to the realm for a new adventure, so they weren’t about to begrudge Seiren of the opportunity to shine if she wanted to. In the end, she decided to take on the role. Despite having no training in acting, she was a natural, quickly picking up on different cues and adding her own flare to the script unprompted. The audience fell in love with her on-screen character and the writers were quick to write her into the show as a recurring character.
She would go on to star in that show for the majority of her elementary and middle school life, alongside other movie and tv opportunities that came along. Her parents and Rika were careful not to let her filming schedule disrupt her schooling too much and tried to shield her as much as possible, however some things could not be helped. Seiren found it difficult to fit in with her peers, feeling a disconnect between their lives and hers, she was always more comfortable around adults and other actors. Being famous also didn’t help, especially when complete strangers would come up to her and talk to her like they’ve known each other their whole life. She tried her best to keep her head down, but when that didn’t work, resigned herself to acting how other people would expect her to act, making friends with the right people. It was just easier that way.
Fame also had a dark side, one which became more apparent as Seiren grew older and blossomed into a pretty young woman. Although she enjoyed the actual acting part of her role and thrived when she was on screen, she was quickly growing tired of being constantly at the centre of attention and hounded by the media. It didn’t help that when she had turned nine her empathy abilities had started to show, leading to a few very public breakdowns when she got overwhelmed by all the flashing lights and cameras. They were always looking for the next scoop to publish, hoping to catch another incident. She also had some obsessed fans, people who just wouldn’t leave her alone. There were a few kidnapping attempts as a result that were thankfully thwarted by her bodyguard, but that only made her more jumpy and paranoid. Rika was furious when she found out, increasing her security and insisting that Seiren would be taught in self-defence. It was a relief for all when they discovered her second hand ability was invisibility, something that would come in handy in the future.
Things only got a little easier for her when she started attending the academy, those in her year were already used to her erratic schedules from junior high, and the novelty of having someone famous in their class was starting to die down. Seiren was still popular, but it wasn’t as daunting as it had been before. She had also taken up drinking at the time, influenced by her older friends in the industry, she would use her invisibility to sneak out to hang with them when she had the time. She liked the drinking because it helped her unwind and deal with her ever-growing list of anxieties; burn out from her current acting jobs and dealing with the paparazzi.
The drinking became more frequent the more stressed she became, it was inevitable that she would slip up and get caught. It was only fortunate that it was Rika who discovered her drinking habit. She was furious, rightfully so, but she could also understand the pressures she was going through. After a long lecture on the recklessness of her behaviour, Rika made sure that Seiren got the help she needed in the form of therapy.
She was hesitant at first with the idea, unsure how talking about her issues was going to help her. She was introduced to a therapist by the name of Seiichi. She attended the first few sessions with a guarded attitude, slowly starting to accept that it could possibly help once she figured out the therapist had no ill intentions. She still doesn’t drop the act completely, but somehow she knows that the therapist can see through her, grateful that he doesn’t bring it up.
One of his suggestions to help her cope with the stress was to find a new hobby, which she did in the form of painting - something which she has dabbled in the past. She finds it relaxing, and while she certainly isn’t a professional, she has displayed a few pieces under the pseudonym of ‘Usagi-chan’ or ‘Usa-chan’, making sure it couldn’t be linked back to her. It was refreshing to be anonymous, and to receive critique without people knowing who the artist really is. Painting become another creative outlet for her when she finds herself struggling with her everyday life, enrolling in Art as an elective in her current semester. The subject has been going well so far, and there’s also a certain Apprentice Professor in the Art department at school she’s a little starstruck by.
