Queen Althea Sinclair
TENKAI, pureblood
FEMALE
TWENTY FOUR
HETEROSEXUAL
TENKAI LEADER
DECEMBER TWENTY-FIRST
DIVINE ELEMENTAL
APPEARANCE
As the descendent of one of the oldest and most pure bloodlines of Tenkai in the realm, Althea’s angelic grace is captivating and often described as otherworldly. She holds herself with the regalness and elegance of a natural-born leader, demanding attention the moment she steps into a room. She is proportionatly slim, with a willowy frame at 5’7”, long and slender legs and delicate arms. While not overtly busty, her figure can still be described as hourglass; lean and strong like that of a dancer. Her complexion is pale and flawless, skin devoid of any scars or noticeable marks besides from a faint scar on the inside of her ankle in the shape of the sun, hidden by an anklet.
Among her most notable features is her long blue hair, the shade of cerulean. It cascades down the length of her back like a waterfall, constantly flowing even without any presence of natural wind, hypnotisingly so. Her golden-hued eyes are striking with an angular shape and often mysterious gaze. It can be difficult to pierce the veil of her eyes as she often keeps her thoughts closely guarded.
As befitting of someone of her station, her wardrobe consists of elegant and rather formal articles of clothing. She tends to favour white, flowing dresses with slits down the sides and blue-gold accents and ribbons; and accompanying sleeves and head accessories. At times she will also wear a darker variant of the same outfit with a veil masking most of her face. She wears a gold amulet accented with a blue diamond around her neck along with two circlets on her thigh and ankle.
Her wings are the pure white wings of a seraph that span almost twice her arm length and twice her height when fully extended. They are quite the sight to behold in flight, befitting of the Tenkai Leader.
Her primary weapon is the Blessed Lance, Lux, effective against creatures of darkness and can be used as a conduit for her powers if she so chose to.

PERSONALITY
MAIN ABILITY: Element of Wind, Divine Element Manipulation
Her natural affinity as a Tenkai is the element of wind, though she does have control of the other elements in their holy/most pure form. She is able to create, shape and manipulate holy elements that are highly effective against the supernatural. With her unique type of element, she is able to trap, immobilise or outright banish or kill all threats, so she certainly is not someone to be trifled with.
Additionally, the divine elements have other properties and abilities which enhances and nurtures; including healing and purification. She can also summon and call out to other Tenkai across the realms, using her light to set a beacon if they choose to answer her call.
There have been rumours in the past that those of her bloodline have the power of resurrection. This has not been tested in recent times.
SECOND HAND ABILITIES: Telekinesis, Telepathy
As the leader of the Tenkai, Althea, or Thea as she prefers to be known to her closest confidants, presents herself with the grace and composure as expected of her post. She is well known across the realm for her compassion, truly caring for the people she serves and not afraid to step in when she is needed, even if the task itself is perceived as something below her rank. As the only Higher Up with a visible presence in the realm, she is always conscious of how she appears when she is out and amongst the population, making herself available to let even the smallest voice be heard. She has at times been lectured for being too self-sacrificing by her advisors or other Council members, but that trait has only endeared her to those who follow her. She believes that in her position as the Tenkai Leader, she should take care of and protect her people, willing to make sacrifices for the good of the many.
Outside of the Tenkai realm, Thea has a reputation for being reserved and stoic when dealing with outsiders. She has a strict hand and is very adamant on maintaining the Tenkai’s neutrality in the battle between the Subhuman and Manor. She holds the powerful aura of one not to be trifled with, and often any talk of having the Tenkai fight a battle they have no stake in is very quickly cut short, less they want to be banished by Thea. Her interests lie in the protection of the Tenkai who have made Shunojiski their home, ensuring that their rights and protections were being upheld. As a natural telepath, she is often able to pre-empt and outmanoeuvre her political rivals. Her sharp tongue and mysterious demeanour leaving no room for argument. Even without the backing of the Tenkai Government, Thea can hold easily hold her own as its leader.
Thea is not one to wear her heart on her sleeve, preferring to let her actions speak for themselves. She is very prim and proper in the way she presents herself, a result of a lifetime’s worth of etiquette and lessons in presentation. She only truly opens up to people she is close to and can trust, revealing a more mischievous and openly affectionate side in private; these people are few in between including her cousins and her trusted advisor. She tries to protect her Nephilim cousins as best as she can from the Higher Ups and his meddlesome mother, but even her hands are tied when it comes to the Sinclair’s family secrets – she cannot be seen to be biased even to members of her own family.
Unlike some members of the Higher Ups, Althea likes to think that she is generally more progressive in her ideals, quicker to adapt to new things and change than the old guard, who wanted things to back to the way they were once the realm was rebuilt. She makes an effort to be aware of anything and everything, often found with her nose buried in a book or reports in her downtime – having a photographic memory helps in absorbing and cataloguing information away for later use. Wise beyond her years, Thea is in reality just a simple person, preferring to enjoy the simple things in life and spending time with her people. Being a trained dancer herself, she is also an avid lover of the arts; she likes to go out and collect art pieces throughout the realm, very prominently displaying her cousin’s pieces with great pride. It was a pity that so much history was lost when the realm fell.
Despite having her wings, Thea has never been in a relationship before. She’s never had the opportunity to with her sheltered childhood leading into years of strict training and then the restoration of the realm. There is one particular person she is fond of, a secret she keeps close to her heart. Though any outside observers can tell who has already won the Lady’s heart.

HISTORY
Born during the longest night of the year, the winter solstice, Althea Sinclair’s birth would later be heralded as the symbolic death and rebirth of the sun. At the time, however, her arrival was a quiet affair for the Sinclair royal family, not realising the significance of her birth. Females were rarely born into the family, much less into the main branch of the family. A fact that would be disproven again just days later, when Kanako was born to Thea’s uncle, Asura. Ontop of being a Nephilim, born of Tenkai and Subhuman blood, the scandal of Kanako’s birth was enough to eclipse Althea’s and was the talk of the family for the longest time thereafter.
In all her family didn’t care that she was born female, at least her blood was still pure. It was assumed her father would take on the position of Tenkai leader when her uncle stepped down due to the age gap between the two and the bloodline would continue either through a second child, or through Thea's future child to pass on the leadership mantle. As a Sinclair, she was still expected to eventually be involved in the running of the realm in some aspect, supporting her father when he took on the role. At the age of three, she was introduced to the boy who would become her future advisor, someone who was a good eleven years older than her, Cyrille Kiriya. Despite their age gap, Thea took an immediate shine to the teenager, refusing to leave his side and winning him over with her cuteness and all.
Her childhood was a happy one, even with tensions between her family and her uncle’s, her mother insisted she still knew her cousins. Trips to Shunojiski were frequent and Thea immediately hit it off with Kei and Kanako, always looking forward to the next visit as it was an escape from all the etiquette lessons and realm politics. Little Kurai was an addition to the cousins just a few years later, but by then her visits were becoming less frequent due to growing tensions between the older generation. The Sinclairs are one of the oldest Tenaki families in existence and are famed as users of the Divine Element, an ability that was unique to the Sinclairs. Kei’s growing powers as a Nephilim were seen as an abomination of the bloodline, particularly when he started to show signs of wielding the more dangerous element of lunar. Her father in particular was against the creation of new nephilims, short of straight up accusing her uncle of power plays. He was still their leader after all. Thea was forbidden from visiting her cousins shortly after that revelation.
Her lessons and training stepped up soon after, her only company besides from her tutors and family being her future advisor, Cyrille. He would assist her in her lessons and homework, and was the one to insist to her parents to allow her to take dance lessons at her behest. It was the little things like that which made her adore him even more, to the point where she would dutifully follow him around whenever she had free time. She was not allowed outside the family compound often due to her family’s position at the top of the Tenkai hierarchy, leading to a restlessness she couldn’t shake.
At age nine, Thea’s quiet life took a turn on its head when it came out that her father was inflicted with a mysterious illness that was eating away at him, not even the best healers in the realm were able to figure out what was wrong with him. He passed away soon after, leaving the Sinclair family in chaos with no heir to the leadership, and the next surviving bloodline was Thea, a female. It was almost unheard of, coming from a patriarchal family. She was also much too young to carry on the main family line at the time. This was where things started to devolve quickly. Not too long after her father’s death, Thea began to show signs of her powers manifesting. It was not too unusual as Sinclairs tended to develop early, but what was unusual was that it was not the element of wind as was expected for a Tenkai. Thea had developed the gift to manipulate the divine elements and the sudden appearance of her wings, marking her as the next leader chosen by blood. The mark of the sun was on the inside of her ankle, easy to miss because of her pale skin.
It was quickly determined by her uncle and the Higher Ups that she would be trained to harness her powers. Despite her gender, her abilities alone were something to be wielded in service of the Tenkai race. Similar to the Elemental Guardians, Thea was sent away to train at the guardian gates to learn about each elemental aspect of her power, often training alongside the current generation of Guardians. Much to her disappointment, that meant leaving her trusted retainer behind. He was reassigned to another member of the Tenkai government, the one who would become the interim leader should anything happen to her grandfather and while it was a good opportunity for him, she was upset that she had to part with a dear friend. Disappointment turned to delight once she realised that her cousin Kanako was the keeper of the Lightning element, an unexpected reunion.
Expectations were high, as their future leader, she was expected to be perfect. Every little mistake was punished harshly and Thea was often push beyond her limits whether it be learning her element, learning how to be a warrior or learning to be a leader. It was a lot of pressure, something that would have driven her crazy had it not been for her visits to Kanako.
She was fourteen when her uncle died suddenly, leaving the position to the Strauss’. Nikolai Strauss was made successor on the basis that he would step down once the true Tenkai leader was ready to claim her birthright.
Devastation would come to their doorstep when she turned twenty. It started out small, mysterious cracks appearing out of nowhere, shaking up the foundations of buildings. Over weeks of a time, more and more of these cracks would continue to appear all over the place. Thea was pulled from her post at the guardian gates to investigate, the Higher Ups hoping that she would be able to tap into her powers to fix it. Whatever it was, her findings were chilling. Something was destroying the realm from the inside out, a mysterious rot.
The catastrophes escalated quickly like a domino effect, the decision by the Council was made to evacuate the entire realm, with Nikolai at its lead. Althea's role was to find the source of this mysterious miasma, to stop it before it destroyed the realm completely. With a few trusted members from the Sinclair branch family, her investigations would lead to the Manor Leader, Toshi Sasaki. A confrontation broke out between them and Toshi, though it was clear that they had underestimated his abilities. The Sinclairs were slaughtered by Toshi's hand, leaving Althea the only survivor. He managed to slip through her grasp before she could smite the vile creature, but by then it was too late. Whatever Toshi had done, it could no longer be stopped. All she could do was stand with the Elemental Guardians to prevent the collapse of the gates.
Thea played her part to help in these evacuations as an unknown player, for at the time, her face was not well known amongst the general population. Many would mention a mysterious veiled Tenkai appearing at sights of devastation, rescuing as many as she could before disappearing. The only Tenkai allowed to remain in the devastated realm were the Guardians and the Higher Ups.
Once the dust settled, the evacuated Tenkai left in shambles and stranded in the streets of Shunojiski, Thea set to work in the restoration of the realm with the help of the Higher Ups. Even as the most powerful beings in the realm, it took a long time to heal the scars and rifts which scorched the clouds. The full extent of the damage was kept a secret amongst the highest echelons and the guardians, and the cause determined as unknown.
When the realm was stable enough again for Tenkai to step foot on the land, the call was made for Tenkai to return to help in rebuilding the grand structures of their home. Many answered the call for help and for months Thea would lend her assistance where able, keeping her true identity a secret for the time being. It was the first time since she was declared the next Tenkai leader that she had been able to mingle with her people and interact with them, those interactions strengthening her resolve to be the best leader for her people.
With the rebuilding constructions drawing close to completion and preparations began to restore the portals to allow the Tenkai to return, a decision was made by the higher ups to appoint the new Tenkai leader. To her delight, she was reunited with her dear friend and retainer who had been serving Nikolai all this time. He was to be her new advisor and most-trusted right hand man.
Nikolai’s announcement that he was stepping down from the leadership was met with surprise by many of the Tenkai as he had led them through what was arguably the most difficult time for their kind. Thea’s reveal as the next leader was even more of a surprise, many who had been involved in the rebuilding efforts and those from the evacuation efforts would easily remember her aid and assistance. She was readily accepted by those people as the leader, her continued efforts in bringing the stranded Tenkai back home or ensuring those who decided to stay in Shunojiski were settling in well, Thea quickly became the next beacon of light and hope for her people.
Since her appointment, she has not yet been reunited with her cousin Kei, instead having to deal with his wretched mother and other members of the Subhuman government – much to her distaste. She quickly proved to be someone not to be trifled with, steadfast in maintaining the Tenkai’s neutrality. Given her omnipresence, she’s also been tasked by the Higher Ups to keep watch over certain key individuals in the realm, the forbidden Nephilim.
