you only know a part of me WORDS: 1002 muse: meep OOC: he lives for the teasing -u- As she scooted closer to him, his extended arm wrapped around the small of her frame loosely, his body still leaned forward for the time being. He listened to her words about the girl, his expression not changing in the slightest. "I see." he mused, letting out a sigh and glancing his eyes towards Judo looking through the mirror. "It seems that my mother has gone a bit overboard with this." Memory manipulation is a dangerous ability, dating back to centuries ago where it was consistently used for personal gain. It was an ability that was deemed extinct for the longest time, but a more recent experience led the council to believe that it was still amongst the Subhuman realm, and knows whom those abilities belong to. "The ability to be able to manipulate memories is dangerous. There's only so much someone can do, most won't know it even happening to them should the user feel it necessary to use." Kei glanced down at Misaki, fond of her expression at the moment while she spoke the rest of what she was thinking.
His grip around her grew a little tighter as he finally sat back on the seat, his other hand fumbling around with his rather overgrown hair of his, while the one that's holding Misaki started fidgeting around with her yukata straps. "I understand your concerns. To have to go through such lengths to get me to cooperate means that they're serious on their decisions that they're placing upon me." Judo led the car out of the city, lights starting to fade as the city became too far to illuminate the area. Only the moon was present enough for some light. "But using mere manipulation on me would not work in their favor. It would not go unnoticed by the council." he trailed.
Misaki then noted on his rather feeble condition, and the fact that his pants buckle was undone. He stifled a chuckle as she sunk down, avoiding their gaze. "Now's not the time to be embarrassed about something like this, Misaki." His free hand gripped his pants belt buckle and off it went from his body. "Ah, finally." he mused, placing the belt next to him. "Though, you're cute when you're embarrassed." he cooed, gazing at her while exhaustion started kicking him again, and used his hand to lightly squeeze the side of her thigh. "I wonder what my mother is planning." he mused.
"I've dealt with a bit of memory manipulation myself. It's highly dangerous, I'm not sure why Junko decided on going through extra measures to make you listen to her, unless she doesn't know about it." Judo explained, turning another right down a street. "You've got your hands full, Yuushin." he grinned through the mirror. Kei glared at him. "What have I told you about that name, Judo..." he sighed, looking out the window. "It's quite possible she doesn't know about the girl's ability. Regardless, tomorrow may be a rather troublesome day."
After a long silence in the car, Judo pulled into a desolate area, off the street. Because it is dark out, the way the area seemed looked like nothing but pitch darkness, as if the car was pulling into a dark abyss. Kei wasn't particularly phased about being close by to the place he spent most of his high school days in. He did make sure that it was kept and not completely abandoned, even though he hasn't been back to the place in many many years. As they neared, the car bumped around a bit before halting to a stop in front of a closed off area, with a blockade blocking all vehicles to travel towards the end of the road. "We will have to travel by foot here." Judo explained, shutting the vehicle off and getting out of the car.
Kei sighed, forgetting about the part where he has to walk a tiny bit to get to the house. He glanced at Misaki and took her hand, scooting out of the car and gently letting her out behind him, after she gathered her belongings. He stood up tall, eyeing the midsize log cabin house at the end of the dirt road behind the blockade. The forest was lush, since it was springtime, and flowers scattered about on the other side of the blockade, looking as if they have been tended to for many years, though the darkness wasn't able to show much. Shutting the car door, they began to walk towards the house. Kei used this opportunity to lift his hand in the air to control the light of the moon, illuminating just enough light to see up ahead, the sound of grass crunching beneath them as they moved.
Judo led the way, a bit further from Kei and Misaki. "I made sure to keep this place relatively tidy while you have been absent all these years. Though your elitists are rather annoying when it came to keeping the place clean. And by them, I just mean Aristide. What a slob." Kei groaned a bit, holding his head. "Eh, whatever. It's not like I could control that." Sighing, he sidewards glanced at Misaki. "This place we are about to be going to, I want warn you that it was a secret place Nanami and I had built together years back. All of her belongings are in there, as well as her grave, so I'm sorry if this is any trouble to you. This would be a perfect place to lay low since it is protected, and no one would be able to find it."
The path came to a close as they reached the house. Judo fumbled around with a protective barrier over the entrance before being able to open the door. Kei stopped for a moment, glancing around. Memories began to pool in, remembering when this place was first being built. They built it with their bare hands, with no help from anyone else. A lot of effort was put into this house, hence why it looks the way it does. Some of the logs have dry rot though, and vines covered most of the house itself. "This place hasn't changed at all." he mused, walking inside.
The smell of lavender was the scent of the house, mixed with the scent of wood. It resembled a cabin in the woods, with three rooms, an actual kitchen and living space, along with an office and a more recent addition, a bar located in the corner of the kitchen area. "Who put that bar there?" he pointed, looking at Judo whom grinned. "It was Aristide's idea, sorry. But it doesn't look bad." Sighing, Kei looked around for a bit, noticing framed photos of himself and Nanami when they were younger. He lifted the corner of his mouth into a smile, but it soon after faded away.
He continued looking at the photos, with his back facing Misaki and Judo. "What are your thoughts, Misaki?"

Abilities of the mind were common amongst Tenkai, particularly amongst those destined as Guardians, however they were taught from a young age from malicious use. That young woman had been blatant in her use, Misaki had no doubt she wouldn’t hesitate to use it on Kei if it would further her agenda. That his own mother (if she was aware) would be willing to subject him to that kind of treatment… “Just be careful Kei. I – we – don’t want to lose you. I can’t.” She wouldn’t know what to do if she was put in that position. Making the decision to walk away in the first place had already been difficult enough the first time, she couldn’t do it again. Misaki huffed and didn’t remove her fingers from her face. “It is not proper, you delinquent.” She scolded with a frown, the effect lost from her vivid blush. She definitely was not used to being so public with her displays of affection, knowing that they had an audience was even more embarrassing, something which Kei didn’t hesitate to point out teasingly. She waggled her finger at him, comfortable with using him as a pillow for now. As he conversed with Judo, she distracted herself with picking some candy from her haul, unwrapping the wrapping and popping it in her mouth with a pleased sound. She unwrapped another one to offer Kei, pausing at the name. “Yuushin?” She mouthed to herself with a grin, she would have to ask him about that later. She quietly started to nod off as the car trip progressed, huddling closer to the warmth of his body. While it was spring now, the nights were still cold and she was only wearing a couple of layers. She startled awake when the road became bumpy, body straightening in her seat as she looked at their surroundings curiously, not that she could see much anyway. They were well and truly no longer within the city limits, and if it wasn’t for Kei there would have been no way she would have stepped out of the car into the pitch darkness. She looked uncertainly at him, picking up her bags from the festival and scooted quickly out of the car to take his hand. Clearly the other two knew where they were going and so she let them lead the way, her gaze wary on the long shadows casted by the trees in the dimly lit moonlight. She startled when she realised Kei was talking to her again, looking slightly surprised at the name of his former lover. She smiled softly and shook her head. “It is no trouble at all. It was her place first in the end, so it’s understandable.” She replied easily. If she had any misgivings about living in the place where his ex used to live, she didn’t show it. She appreciated the warning for what it was. As they reached closer though, she peeked at him out of the corner of her eye to gauge his mood, glancing back as the moonlight illuminated their destination. A simple cabin in the woods, completely outside her comfort zone, but Kei was right. No one would think to look for her here. At least it wasn’t giving her haunted cabin vibes, she would have been gone in an instant if it were. She followed him into the cabin, slipping off her shoes at the entrance. It had a surprisingly homely interior despite its simple exterior. She turned her head as she took it all in, shielding her eyes to adjust to the sudden change in lighting. It felt… awkward, knowing that she was stepping into someone else’s space. If it wasn’t for the fine layer of dust, the place would have looked well-lived in. Misaki could not help but feel out of place, especially as she watched Kei stare at the various framed photographs. “… She’s beautiful, Kei.” She stepped up beside him, placing a hand on his arm in support. At his question she hummed quietly, “It is certainly homely and definitely needs a thorough cleaning. As long as you don’t expect me to venture out in the dark, I wouldn’t be able to make my way back here.” She nodded to herself, looking around again before returning to him, her other hand hovering above her stomach. “I’ll stay, that’s what you wanted to hear, wasn’t it?” She smiled warmly up at him, squeezing his hand gently. “Luckily, I’ve already packed my things away so moving would not be a hassle. Though we might need to move some things around.” She ventured hesitantly, not sure what he would think about that. This was Nanami’s space, her presence could still be felt in the cabin despite her being long gone. “Why don’t you show me around?” [/style][style=background-color: #2E2E2E;color:#090909;padding:5px; text-align:right] notes: look~ I made a post [/style] |

you only know a part of me WORDS: over 1000 again muse: bloop OOC: emotional keikeikei As he listened to Misaki, his gazed traveled to the old photos that he has displayed in front of him. There were, quite a lot of photos around, framed photos on the walls, and some neatly put and tucked away in some corners of the area with nice decorations on top of corner tables. It brought up some uncomfortable memories for him, knowing when each and every one of the photos were taken. He was quite young in all of them, his facial features were rather immature, strong jawline merely non-existent. But his hair never changed, he always had a bedhead look. And Nanami, well she looked exactly how he remembered her. Big green eyes, and tinted red hair.
"Nightly traveling may be a bit of a hassle." he trailed, turning himself around to face her. He wasn't feeling great again, if anything he is feeling much worse than he did a few hours ago. His body swayed a bit, but he kept his composure. "I'm happy to hear you say that. This would be a good place for you to be in for the time being." He softly smiled at her, and his gaze shifted to Judo, whom was staring at him intently. He quickly nodded at him while he walked back outside. Kei's gaze shifted back at Misaki. "Let me show you around. It's not exceptionally a big place, though." With his hand in hers, he first showed her the kitchen that was located to the left side of the entrance. "We worked pretty hard with this kitchen, she wanted it to be the nicest place in this house since she was hungry all the time." he chuckled softly to himself, remembering the one time she insisted that she wanted to make the kitchen look rustic and huge, taking most of the space in the bottom floor of the house. Though that idea was killed instantly when he pointed out that having the whole house become a kitchen wouldn't be an ideal thing.
He took Misaki through the kitchen, passing a small log table that fits three, and towards the living area that made up the most of the bottom half of the house. There were many log pieces across the space, with a sectional sofa in dark brown and a flat screen television on the wall, accompanied with more picture frames on the soft tan walls. "Living space is here, you can tell that I didn't decorate anything in this house, not entirely my type of style." He slowly gazed at the pictures on the wall, but closed his eyes for a moment before taking Misaki towards the back room where his office space was, double door wide open. It was littered with paperwork, neatly tucked filing cabinets with a few pieces slipped in certain areas. A desktop, printer, and a few chairs were scattered across the room, as if the room was frequently being used. "This was my office space. I'd often come here to study when I was in the academy. It seems now it turned into a meeting spot for my elite team." He sighed at the sight, then turned to face Misaki. "Behind you is the ridiculous bar. I can assure you that this wasn't here prior. And to the left of you is the back door to the garden, that's probably extremely overgrown."
Judo came back inside the house, closing the door behind him. "Coast is clear, Kei. I'm going to take off for the night, I'll come get you in the afternoon tomorrow if you are still planning on going to the meeting." Kei shifted his gaze for the moment. "I will be." Judo nodded, waving at Misaki. "Nice meeting you dear, we can get to know each other tomorrow." He winked and left the house, preparing the special lock on the door before leaving.
Kei sighed, putting a hand to his head. "There is a guest room down here at the end of this hall, and upstairs is just the master bedroom with a bathroom attached to it, as you can see." he nodded upwards. The room upstairs was a slightly open section, with a balcony over the foyer, above the entrance, and up a spiral log staircase. He led Misaki towards the stairs, and up it. "Some of my old clothes are still here, though I wouldn't be able to fit in them anymore." The queen sized bed was located in the back of the room, where a large window was fixated behind the head of the bed. It was neatly made, a purple comforter tucked over the mattress, accompanied with several white throw pillows. A white dresser and a walk in closet was also in the room, with the master bathroom located where the opening is. Kei broke his grip on her hand and walked to the dresser. He opened up one of the drawers and pulled out a blue t-shirt. It was long, but rather small. He sighed. "Yeah, too small. But I know someone that could easily slip into this without trouble." he cooed, grabbing some old pajama pants that he hopes will still fit him, as the air conditioner was on. Though he still felt completely sweaty and hot.
"I'm going to take a shower, you can explore or do whatever you please." Kei slowly walked up next to her, his hand caressing her shoulder as he whispered softly in her ear. "Or you can come shower with me." Grinning, he opened the door to the bathroom and closed it, not locking it in any way, undressed then hopped in the shower. His hands on the wall in front of him as the lukewarm water beamed down onto his body. His gaze lowering and weakening, losing all of his emotions with it, staring at the floor, blankly.
This was much harder than I thought.

While certainly not as extravagant as her home back in the Tenkai realm, or the house she had stayed in since she started at the Academy, she could easily make do with this space he had given her. His hand in hers, she dutifully let him guide her around the various living spaces, noting the disparity between rooms. Some things had been left virtually untouched, whereas other items were obviously more frequently used. “An elite team? I assume I will be meeting these people during my stay.” They sounded they would be close to Kei, if they were allowed to use this private space. Her head turned left and right as she looked at all the things he was pointing out, smiling softly at his obvious distaste for the bar. “Well you can be assured I won’t be touching that for a while, but the garden I can probably do something about. I’m not a green thumb, but I daresay I will have a lot free time on my hands over the coming months.” That was, if she was able to move much without her whole body aching. At the rate the baby was growing, Misaki was not sure how her petite frame was going to handle it – considering the size of Kei. “I hope you don’t make big babies though.” She joked with a wince. Judo came back in to bid them farewell, which she acknowledged with a jaunty wave. “Will do, you must tell me old war stories about Kei.” She chirped. She’s certain he would have some delightful old stories about the man standing beside her. While they had known each other for a while now, Misaki knows there’s so much more she doesn’t know, and she was eager to rectify that. Once Judo was gone, they continued the tour through the house, leading up the stairs. She did stumble on the last step, but luckily Kei’s hand in hers was able to stabilise her before she completely stacked it. She looked at him and back at the shirt he was holding up, and huffed. “You’re teasing me, Kei.” She pouted, though didn’t seem to mind as much now that it was just the two of them. Her pout grew as he approached, a small shiver going up her spine as he whispered into her ear and left for the bathroom. Oh. That was definitely an invitation she was accepting, once the flaming flush on her cheeks died down further. The water was on, right. Misaki stepped into the shower room, watching him carefully as she started undoing the obi around her waist and hanging it on the rack. The yukata was the next to follow, though she was no longer look at him, more self-conscious about the bump of her stomach. It’s not their first time showering together (the great Valentines fiascos was still burned quite vividly in her mind), but she knew she looked different to how she did when he last fully saw her. Letting her hair down, she stepped into the shower to join him, noticing his downcast gaze. “Hey, are you alright?” She reached out to cup his cheek, “You’re not going to faint on me, are you? Because I’m not sure if I can carry you.” She smiled weakly, feeling a strange sense of… something foreign to her senses. A great longing? Sadness? “At least we’re not handcuffed together again.” She reached down for the shampoo, gesturing up at his head. He clearly wasn’t in the right state to take care of it. If she had it her way, after this he would be back in bed with a steaming bowl of soup and tea. It was long overdue. Already a lot has happened that evening, she was sure it would all catch up with her tomorrow once she's had time to process her thoughts. [/style][style=background-color: #2E2E2E;color:#090909;padding:5px; text-align:right] notes: these two can barely take care of themselves -.-[/style] |

you only know a part of me He heard some ruffling in the bathroom outside of the shower, though he didn't move. So much has gone on, and so much will continue going on. The weight of everyone is resting on his shoulders and it just feels like more pressure is continuing to do so. Deep into his thoughts, he hadn't realized that Misaki slipped into the shower, her presence calming as usual. Though his mind was fuzzy, he was able to smile back at her softly, even if it was small. The sudden ping in his heart aching in misery.
"You don't need to worry about me. I can take care of myself." He stood up tall, his hand traveling to her face. "What's more important is that you are here and safe with me." His face was already flushed from having a fever, but more color was added to his cheeks, something he hardly ever does in front of many people. "Y-You, both." His gaze shifted elsewhere, as Misaki tended to wash his hair, kneeling down so she was able to at least reach it. While he did, he subconsciously put a hand to her stomach, which was more prominently noticeable since there weren't any clothes to cover it. The feeling was still so surreal, he never intended to keep the Sinclair line going on his part. He had hoped to end it with him so that no one else has to suffer like he had to do all his life. But he was wrong, and it seemed like life had other plans for him to keep going. Kei just hoped this child wasn't going to be difficult.
After Misaki was finished with his hair, he felt a sudden ping again, and had to stand up straight or else he probably would have collapsed onto her, and god forbid that happened. With a quick wash, he gave the lukewarm water another go onto his head before speaking slowly, his thoughts consuming him. "I'm going to step out of here, you finish your shower." He smiled softly, his hand caressing her shoulder before leaving her. He breathed in deeply before grabbing a towel to dry himself, before putting on pajamas and waking out of the bathroom quick. It must have been the steam getting to him, though his emotions are running wild by the minute right now.
While he had a brief moment to himself, he walked back to his dresser and rummaged through the clothes that he had in there before touching a familiar object inside. It was a silver promise ring, though looked more like a wedding ring of sorts, something he had planned to give Nanami the day she has passed. There was a sapphire jewel in the shape of a crescent moon in the middle of the ring, with two small diamonds on either side of it. His gaze drifted slowly, remembering how hard and silly it was going through all the trouble in trying to find the right one, not to mention with the right enchantment that he wanted to add to it, specifically the protection enchantment. Not that it doesn't matter now, but he wondered if it would still be of use for someone else's little hands. Before Misaki came out of the bathroom, he stashed it in his pocket, sitting on the bed and looking downwards. There shouldn't be any harm in giving to her, right? Despite it being meant for someone else that is no longer here, he wasn't going to let it go to waste even though it had for the longest time.
His body fell backwards onto the bed eventually, eyes staring up at the log ceiling above him. The air conditioner sent a slight breeze into the room, touching his exposed hot skin with every moment. Yeah, I'll give it to her. Kei nodded to himself as he heard Misaki finally coming out of the bathroom. He sat up slowly, noticing the blue t-shirt still on the bed in hopes that she puts it on so that he could tease her about it. The thought of it made him chuckle.

He has a surprising amount of hair considering how short it is, thick under her fingers. They’re going to have to figure another way to do this in the future, he was much too tall, but at least the shower is built with his tallness in mind. “Worrying is in my nature, it’s not a switch I can turn off.” Her voice was soft and fond. “Especially when it comes to you.” While her wings have not reappeared again, she had no doubt that they would soon. She loves this man, she's known that since her confession weeks ago. She took a step back when she finished washing his hair, nodding as he excused himself from the shower. “Go straight to bed.” He was looking shaky on his feet and almost ready to collapse. With the shower now to herself, she started going through the usual motions of washing her hair (maybe she should cut it shorter, it’s becoming too long to handle again) and the rest of her body. Her hands came to rest on her stomach, “Soon we will meet you.” She murmured fondly. “He wants you…” She breathed, exhilarated as she leant against the tiled walls, letting the water wash over her body. After so many weeks of worrying and fretting about what she would do it Kei decided he wanted nothing to do with her, there’s an enormous weight off her shoulders. Misaki closed her eyes, resting there for moments longer before she shut the water off, reaching out for a towel to dry off. Wrapping it around her body securely, she found a hairdryer on the countertop for her hair. There really was too much of it she frowned into the mirror, brushing through the long strands until they were no longer tangled. Once her hair was finally dry, she walked out of the bathroom and back into the bedroom. She smiled as she saw Kei on the bed, heading over to him. “Lay down and rest, silly.” She picked up the shirt he’d picked out before, unravelling the towel so she could pull it on. On her slighter frame the shirt was comically big on her, making her look like she was drowning in material. The sleeve was slipping off one shoulder and the length of it reaching to just below her knees. She huffed, seeing the amused look on his face. “I look ridiculous, don’t I?” She sat down next to him on the bed, taking his hand in hers. There were any more questions she wanted to ask of him. How did he feel about all this? His thoughts on becoming a father? What does their future look like? She knew she was still early on, but six months was going to disappear in a flash and their lives would forever change. One more night wasn’t going to hurt though, she wanted to make sure he was well rested before they went further down that rabbit hole. “Is there anything you needed? Something to eat? Tea, maybe?” She reached out to touch his face, still feeling the heat radiating off from him. “Probably some medicine as well. Your temperature is still not going down.”[/style][style=background-color: #2E2E2E;color:#090909;padding:5px; text-align:right] notes: [/style] |

you only know a part of me As he expected, she went straight for the shirt laid out on the bed and snugged it on. Quite honestly, he didn't expect it to look that big on her, but it amused him so. He gazed at her while she sat next to him and asked him questions that only a concerning mother would ask. He simply replied, "I just need to sleep it off, I'm sure I'll be fine." Kei smiled slightly, dreading the day ahead of him. He is still rather confused as to what he is going to do. Matter of fact, he's rather stumped. For the first time, he doesn't have a solution. Defying his mother is an annoyance all together, but he would still be in a predicament if what Misaki said about the girl having memory manipulation was true, not that he had any qualms about her discovery. There would be no way to predict when or how that could be done, whether his mother knows about it or not. He's going to have to think about it carefully so that he doesn't slip up.
The night came and went pretty quickly. He opened his eyes slightly to the sun beating down from the skylight above, his head more or less still a bit fuzzy, though he felt much better than he did yesterday. Sitting up slowly, he glanced at the time. Thought I would sleep through the meeting.. he thought to himself, sighing a bit before looking down at Misaki whom was sleeping soundly. He didn't necessarily want to disturb her, but he had to get up, so he carefully slipped away from her, and stood up tall before slinking over towards the bathroom. Sighing, he looked at himself in the mirror, noticing bags underneath his eyes, and his hair was completely disheveled. Though the meeting in particular didn't mean much to him, the Higher Ups deeply care about appearances and look down upon anyone facing them looking unprofessional. So he managed to make it a little less crazy, brushing through it a bit, slicking it down with some gel so that his stray aways stay down.
After the bathroom, he walked back out to find something to wear that wasn't completely small on him. Before that, he checked his pocket to still feel the ring inside and placed it on the floor for the time being. Using the dress pants from last night and the tank top, he quickly changed into them, then went into the dresser to find a white dress shirt that he could throw on, making sure that he was quiet the whole time. Luckily there was one, so he took it and before he walked downstairs, he grabbed the ring and walked over towards a sleeping Misaki, slipping it onto her left hand ring finger that was sticking out on the side of the bed.
Kei managed to slip away quietly down the stairs, where he found Judo sitting in the kitchen with a pot of coffee made. "Glad you're awake on time. Was going to disturb you if you didn't." he grinned, nodding at the coffee. "Drink that so you're not an asswipe the entire time we're going to spend together." Kei rolled his eyes at him, fixing his coffee. "Keep you voice down idiot, she's still sleeping." He took a sip from the mug and leaned against the counter, looking at Judo.
There was a brief silence between them while they drank their coffee, before Kei spoke up a bit. "She's pregnant, Judo." The phrase startled him, almost choking on his sip of the bean water, with a look of complete and utter disappointment, and frowned. "Kei. Are you serious? You realize what you've done? After all this time, you mess up now?" Kei's gaze looked up at the ceiling, sighing. "Things happen, Judo. Some things... just happen." Judo looked at him seriously, but he calmed himself down at the news and sighed. "What do you plan on doing? I thought she was here so you could hide her from Annalisa but, this is an entirely different situation.' A pause between them happened again.
He doesn't know what to do, that's what he wants to say to him. But he knows that he can't, and he knows that if he doesn't figure something out, then there's going to be problems that he wouldn't be able to fix. Quite honestly, there are more important things to handle than going to this meeting, but not showing up would cause even more problems, therefore he had no choice in the matter. "I'm not going to marry that woman, Judo. This is the last time my mother will have a say in any of the decisions I make. I'm going to cancel her reign, she needs to back down before I get serious with her." He stared back at Judo, eyes as cold as ice. "Worst comes to worst, I'll do what I've wanted to do from the very beginning." Judo stared back at him, frozen in place for a moment before speaking. "You're not thinking of.. well, I can't say I blame you if it comes down to that. She has tried several times to keep you from power, but you realize what would happen after that, right?" Kei sighed. "I've thought it through for a long time. It's a common thing in this family, after all."
Once their coffee was finished, Kei tugged on his shirt and suit jacket. "Did you contact my brother and sister?" Judo placed the mugs in the sink and started washing them. "Yes, they should be here any moment now." He nodded at him, buttoning his jacket a bit, and after a few minutes of silence, there was ruffling coming from the back door, only for it to be shoved open immediately. "Keeeei-chan, we're here!" In came Kanako, wearing a tightly fitted purple dress with her hair half up and half down, and Kurai wearing a simple black t-shirt and slacks, covered in some paint. "Sorry to intrude. Kurai said softly, walking in and closing the door behind him.
"Be a bit quieter entering someone's house, Kana." he sighed, while she came up to him to give him a hug. "I haven't seen you in awhile, I can't help myself onii-chan! And hi to you too Judo, it's been forever!" She snuggled into him, while Kurai walked over towards him, eyes drooping slightly. Judo waved at them both before walking towards the chair he was sitting in. Kei smiled at Kurai before patting his head. "Sorry for asking you to come too, but this is important." Kana looked up at Kei, her big blue eyes sparkling, holding her grip on him. "So what's the deal? I know you have a meeting but, I've never been to your secret spot before, you'd never let me." Kurai smiled a bit before yawning. "I take it that this is something serious?" Kei looked at them both, hearing some ruffling upstairs. "You'll know why in about a few minutes."

She had stayed up late talking to her parents letting them know that no, she was not returning to the realm just yet and that yes she was alright. Keeping things as vague as possible when she had such inquisitive parents had been a challenge, dragging the call on longer than she had expected. She could hear movement around her, but she was pretty much still dead to the world quickly drifting into asleep again. When she woke up next the sun was shining in her eyes and she was half falling out of bed. She blinked in confusion at the unfamiliar bedsheets, feeling disoriented as she rolled onto her back and stared at the ceiling. Right, she was at Kei’s place, not her own. The previous day’s events came rushing back in a flood and she groaned and placed a hand over her eyes tiredly. What a day – and wait, what was that? She blinked again, squinting her eyes to stare at the glinting diamonds on her finger. She shot up, wincing as she smacked her head against the headboard, fingers splayed out in front of her as she stared in astonishment at what clearly was a ring on her hand. A ring she didn’t remember having on yesterday. “Wh-What?” Maybe Kei had slipped and the ring had landed on her finger? What was the meaning of this? She wondered in a daze, looking over the details of the sapphire diamond ring closely, taking in the silver band. It looked expensive, surely Kei hadn’t meant to lose it? Speaking of whom, Kei had already disappeared which meant she wasn’t going to get her answers here. She sighed and put her hand down, slipping out of bed to get ready for the day. She could hear more than one voice downstairs which probably meant Judo was back, so she should look more presentable than her current state. After the bathroom, she tied her hair up into a more manageable ponytail instead of her signature twin-tails style. She didn’t have a fresh set of clothes, so raiding Kei’s wardrobe would be the only option… Misaki wasn’t all that comfortable with wearing a dead person’s clothes. His legs were far too long for her to wear any of his pants comfortably so she forgoed that option, opting for a simple white buttoned-up shirt and a belt to cinch all the extra material in. It wasn’t perfect, but a lot better than what she was wearing before. There was a loud commotion downstairs and the sound of more footsteps entering the house. Curiously, she started to descend, catching parts of conversation as she went. She didn’t recognise the voices, but they must be close friends of Kei’s if they were here in his secret hideaway. She stepped into the kitchen, feeling suddenly self-conscious when four sets of eyes turned to her. “Good morning Judo, Kei.” She broke the silence, looking over at the two strangers she didn’t know. There was a blue-haired woman with the most stunning blue eyes clinging to Kei and another male who, if she didn’t know any better, could easily be mistakened as a mini-Kei if one wasn’t looking too closely. She was pretty sure she has seen him around before at the Academy, in the Art department if she recalled correctly. “Introduce me to your friends… siblings?” She hedged a guess. Kei has mentioned his siblings in passing before and the family resemblance was too strong for them not to be related in some way. She stepped into the kitchen and smiled at them. “I’m Misaki by the way.” She didn’t move any closer to them, feeling a tad unsure in this situation. She was getting a strange vibe from the female in particular, she felt very… defensive (?) of Kei. Probably best to let Kei handle this, she couldn’t shake the feeling of being very out of her depth. She subtly slipped her hand behind her back, she would just have to ask him about the ring later. For now, she would keep it safe for him. you only know a part of me OOC: kei is out of commission next post, posting as kana after you -u- Right on cue, it seemed Misaki had read his thoughts and he heard her slowly come down the stairs, her figure in plain sight. Kei smiled softly, while a quizzical look from Kanako and Kurai caused them to both look at Kei with a bit of confusion. "Nee, Kei who is this?" she questioned, staring up at him. Kurai stared at Misaki, almost in admiration. Though he doesn't know her personally, he knows who she is since she was a professor of the arts. Music was not in his electives, but that didn't mean he wasn't aware of her presence. The thought intrigued him, knowing full well how his brother acts, he's a bit more aware than his sister. "Kei, I'm a bit surprised." he chuckled, now clinging onto the other side of him. Kanako squinted her eyes at Kurai, then back at Kei. "Is there something going on that I don't know?" She wiggled her finger at him, before all four of them stared at Misaki introducing herself.
Kei sighed, he knew his siblings would act weird, though it was only a matter of time before they would have known anyways. Although they don't need to know the excruciating details right at this very moment, they could at least be introduced to her to be aware of her presence, with some form of a reason. "Okay you two." He slipped them both off of him, ruffling his hair a bit, Kana huffing a bit. "I wouldn't be asking for either of your help if this wasn't a serious situation."
Judo spoke up a bit. "Kei we are running out of time. I'm going to start the car." He got up, nodding at everyone before heading for the door, smiling at Misaki before going outside to start the car. Kei watched him leave, his heart sinking slightly though for whatever reason, he had a bad feeling about something. Without looking at anyone, staring at the door, he spoke. "Kurai, she had asked for you to be at the meeting too." His gaze shifted towards him, Kurai staring back. "You have to go this time." The side of Kurai's lip twitched a bit, not losing his gaze. It was a rather familiar gaze, something Kei would often do as well. "I see." He stepped back for a moment, walking off towards the front door, not vocalizing anything else after walking out towards the car.
Kanako looked at both her brothers, confused. This is often a sign of something serious happening if she notices Kei acting like that towards Kurai. Although Kurai wants nothing to do with the family in its entirety, it's not often Kei forces him to go to meetings. Kei looked at Kana, startling her once he did. "You stay here, and watch over Misaki while I'm gone. I don't know how long it will be." He stared at her and began walking towards the door, but not without stopping next to Misaki, his big hand gripping her stomach slightly, though he wasn't looking back at either of them. "Take care of her, Kanako. She's very important to me." He slipped his hand off of her and walked towards the door before leaving.
She was dumbfounded, and highly surprised. "What's... going on with my brother?" she muttered, gazing at the door while she clutched her pounding chest a bit. "He's acting.." Her gaze shifted towards Misaki, pondering for a moment. Important? "Weird." There were times where she'd remember him going through severely bi-polar episodes when they were younger but, she wasn't sure if this was the case or there was something going on that he couldn't tell her. Either way, he left her with Misaki. "Can I ask you something?" Her brows furrowed a bit, staring at her intently while she walked slightly towards her. "By.. important, what he mean by that?" She wasn't trying to intimidate her, if anything she wanted answers. Something struck her thoughts, though. "Kei uhm, held your stomach before. Misaki, are you by any chance, with child?" Her eyes stared at her, breathing in slowly. "How could he let this happen. And here I thought everything was going to be okay." Her chest began to hurt a bit. "I need to sit down, this is waaaaay too overwhelming for me."
Her body led her towards the couch, sitting down on it slowly. "Tell me, Misaki. What are you to him? Why has he suddenly changed?"
Meanwhile, Kei followed Kurai into Judo's vehicle, the energy tense. It was apparent to him that Kurai was not going to speak to him for a bit, but Kei figured to say something to Judo. "How long is it going to take?" Judo looked at the driver's mirror. "Are you actually planning on attending?" The smirk on Kei's face was shocking to Kurai as he stared at him. "Kei, what are you doing? What's going on?" Kei sat back in the seat while they drove off the premises. "I don't plan to go to the meeting. If I do go, there's a trap waiting for me, I'll be walking towards my death. However, my plan is to expose Junko once and for all, so I'll need both of your cooperation." Kurai stared at him intently, he wasn't sure what was going on, and he certainly wasn't ready for anything that Kei was planning to do.

She felt like an outsider watching them talk amongst themselves, though it seemed that Kei’s brother, Kurai has already figured them out. She offered a small smile, heading deeper into the kitchen to make herself a cup of tea seeing as coffee was definitely out of the question. She had a feeling she would need a morning boost for the morning’s events. Kei has that meeting he needed to attend, so she assumed that one of the siblings would be staying with her. She waved farewell to Judo as he left, waiting for the kettle to finish boiling. The atmosphere in the room turned strange after Kei’s request for Kurai. Misaki knew there was a lot she was missing, she would have to ask Kei about it later when they had more time alone. She didn’t like only knowing what feels likes only a quarter of the story. She may be pregnant, but she wasn’t completely helpless either. She gave him a curious look as he was about to walk about. It warmed her to hear his parting words, though she wasn’t about to let him leave without words of her own. “I’m sure I’ll be fine, Kei. Take care.” No she hasn’t forgotten about the woman she had met yesterday, and her sinister plans for Kei. It was difficult not to worry even as she tried to put on a brave face. She watched him leave with conflicted emotions, her blue gaze flickering over to Kanako as she started speaking, more to herself than Misaki it seemed. She tilted her head curiously when she was finally addressed and gave a slight nod. “Hey…” She started, but then paused as she noticed that she seemed to be struggling with something. She cautiously placed a hand on her arm, her movements slow as not to startle her. “Take a breath and I’ll bring you some tea.” She watched the other woman to make sure she made it to the couch before turning to head back into the kitchen to prepare another mug. “I’ll get to your questions, but first let’s take a pause, okay?” The best thing was not to overload her with more information when she was in this state. Once the tea was prepared, she took her own mug she had left on the counter and brought both over to where Kanako was sitting. She handed her the mug before sitting down on the couch beside her, stirring her mug. “So first thing’s first. Yes, I am pregnant, and yes it is Kei’s.” She looked down at slight bulge that was currently hidden by her clothes. “As you’ve probably already figured, it was not intentional, but I can’t bring myself to regret it.” There was a soft, serene smile on her lips as she took small sips. “I am a Tenkai though, so that may cause some trouble for Kei…” She trailed off with an uneasy frown. The future was so uncertain at the moment. She knows that their union would be frowned upon if it was ever revealed to the public. She sighed and looked at Kanako, thinking about the ring she had found this morning adorning her finger. She never got the change to ask him. “To be honest, I’m not sure myself, it’s complicated. We were friends first, good friends. He’s always been kind to me, and we helped each other through a lot. I think somewhere along the way the feelings gradually changed, and then well… this.” She rested her hand on her stomach. “I guess that’s where things got even more complicated. But I know I love him.” She finished resolutely. “… And I think he feels the same.”She bit on her lip, feeling a little overwhelmed and a bit vulnerable. “I also know he is dealing with a lot at the moment with your mother and the marriage proposal. To be honest, I don’t really know a lot about that. As to why he’s changed? I suppose finding out he’s about to become a father ontop of all the other things he’s dealing with.” She said hesitantly, she’s not sure if that was the answer Kanako was looking for, she who has known Kei for so much longer than she had. “I’m worried, he wasn’t in the best state last night.” She confessed. Misaki hesitated, turning to Kanako with earnest eyes. “Kanako, can I ask you a question? Do you… Do you think he will be okay? I feel like I’m completely in the dark and it’s driving me crazy. I can’t do anything from here… and I can’t anyway. I can’t risk it.” She clenched her hands tightly around the mug, looking lost. ☆ I'd give it all tonight to be back where I began. ☆ Kanako sat there, watching Misaki make some tea before settling down next to her. She took the cup and blew on it before taking a sip of it, listening to her words to the questions asked before. As much as she didn't know it, she became irritated at the thought that Kei had done something as careless as this, hearing it come from Misaki herself only made her more irritated at the matter. Kana has always been protective over her brothers, especially Kei, with the way that her family has been, it was only natural for her to cling to them. She didn't think of the possibility that one day, they will both be taken away from her by other people, and she doesn't like that one bit.
Though even being as extremely irritated at this moment, she couldn't bring herself to hate her. What has happened, it's not like it could all be taken away. The only thing now is to move forward with it, but she couldn't help but feel saddened about what's to come in the near future. God only knows.
Kanako's gaze drifted to the floor, deep in thought for a brief moment. Her herself was never too familiar with most of her family affairs due to her being sent off to the Tenkai realm for most of her life so that she wasn't in the way. Her parents were never fond of her, they made sure to keep her away from Kei and Kurai as much as possible so that they could continue being the supreme family that rules over the realm without the unnecessary drama involving a female being born into the family. When she did come back, her brothers were never the same as they were before she left. They've kept her in the dark for most things for her safety.
"I don't have the luxury to know what's going on. Family affairs have nothing to do with me, I'm usually in the dark about most things." She sipped her tea. "However, knowing Kei, every move, every decision he makes is all based around one thing. Eradicating the family name. He's always hated our family. We have a dark past, a past that never gets brought up for the sake of the realm. But he has burdens that he carries on his shoulders every single day, the hope of the minds of all Subhuman that reside here." Sighing a bit, she placed the mug onto the coffee table and crossed her legs. "His life was only focused on the sole purpose to continue the reign and follow the family legacy with certain rules in place, nothing more. Kei is the first one in this generation to break the rules multiple times in order to diminish the family name and rule as his own person." Her expression blank. "Although most have not seen him much in action, my brother is very powerful. There's something different about him that intrigues the Higher Ups, and my mother. He's been used several times in effort to test his abilities. Some call him a prodigy."
Her cerulean eyes now gazed at Misaki, her expression falsely depicting how she really feels, only appearing subtly. "Because of that, my mother has become determined to control him and will do what it takes to make sure that she does. This meeting he's supposed to go to..." She sighed. "I don't think he will be going. I'm more concerned in what he plans to do to trap the web of lies that surrounds the family." It was clear to her that Kei has not told her that this family is not Subhuman. She didn't want to be the one to say something like that right now. "You can't do anything, neither can I. All we can do is wait, and trust that he knows what to do." She knows one thing that's always been on the table, hearing Kei talk about it all the time. But she wasn't sure if she could let her know about it, at least not now since she wasn't sure if that's the plan he's going for. "I feel bad for him. His whole life has been nothing but misery, worse than I can even imagine. What's happened with me cannot compare what's happened to him. I never know what to say to him anymore."
Silence broke out for a bit. Nothing but soft rain slipping from the clouds outside and falling onto the cabin. She sighed softly. "You are going to become the most important person to this realm with that child, it won't be a fun ride I'll tell you that." Her facial expression brightened a bit, smiling at her gently. "But you have us, you have Kei, and there's others out there that will come to your aid and protect you. There's nothing to worry about." Of course there's plenty to worry about. Bringing a child into the world out of special wedlock in this family is looked down upon, but she hopes Kei would be able to change the minds of all Subhumans as he is well liked and everyone depends on him.
It must be so hard for him right now.

Things that Kei had never revealed to her before, probably hadn’t wanted to burden her with when it was just the two of them. The things about his mother she had already picked up on in their brief run in with her, other bits of information completely new. She sipped at her tea, trying to school her thoughts despite all the emotions flooding her senses. It was overwhelming, definitely more than what she had expected and certainly more scary. It was never going to be easy, carrying the child of the realm’s leader. Even if it was a bastard. She stared at Kanako, able to pick up on some emotions from the other female despite her fairly neutral expression. She has the sense that Kanako was wary of her, though she supposed she would be in the same boat if she had a brother of her own in this situation, however complicated and messy that it was at the moment. She toyed with the band on her finger thoughtfully. “Kei is lucky to have you and so many others by his side.” That he had left the ring with her, she hoped he hadn’t gone off to do something reckless. “I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, seeing as we are not privy to whatever it is he is planning…”
At Kanako referring to her and the baby, she looked down again at the small baby bump and smiled tenderly. “I’m just a tenkai finding her place in the world. But you don’t need to tell me that this little one is special.” She set the mug of tea down on the coffee table. “This child is already so loved, I’m sure she’ll look forward to meeting her aunt.” Misaki offered her a secretive smile, mother’s instinct and all. Even without the ultrasounds and check-ups, she knew. “It’s probably a lot to take in, I wish we could have met under better circumstances.” Kei didn’t talk about his family much when they were together, but she could tell that he cared for them deeply and they, him. “So tell me a bit about yourself. Kurai I’ve seen around before at the Academy, talent must run in the family. His work is breathtaking.” She mused wistfully, thinking about the position she had just left behind. She was going to miss teaching, but with things the way they were, she didn’t think she was going to go back anytime soon. “I teach-… taught Music at the Academy, it’s how I first met Kei actually…” She trailed off. “I quite literally stepped on him under that great big willow tree.” She recalled fondly with a distant look. I really hope he’s okay.[/style][style=background-color: #2E2E2E;color:#090909;padding:5px; text-align:right] notes: [/style] |

we found each other in the dark Kanako sat there pondering briefly about what was Misaki was speaking about. One thing in particular caught her attention that left her eyes widened at the horrific thoughts that flooded through her mind. "A-A girl? Did you just-" Her hand hovered over her mouth for a little bit. "You have confirmed it's a girl?" she mused, staring intently at the girl in front of her. "Misaki, please tell me that you are sure the baby is female?" The shock sent shivers down her spine, the worst times of her life being treated the way she was because she was one of the rare females that exist in a certain branch of the Sinclair family.
"Listen, you.." She stood up and hovered over towards her, bending down in front of her and took her hands into her own. "Do not. I repeat, do not let anyone get their hands on your daughter. No matter what the cost, you cannot allow her to live the same fate as me." Her voice trailed at the last part of what she said, trembling slightly as the memories about her past life flooded her every being of existence. "My life as a female in the Sinclair family was nothing but horrible experiences. Females are rare in my family, and the fact that Kei is...." Her voice trailed once more, trying to get her words and thoughts collected before she started spewing everything at once to her. Kana's intention was not to scare her if she had done so. "The fact that Kei, one of the more powerful leaders that has been born, is having a first born female is unbelievable." Sighing for a bit, she looked up at Misaki. "I don't mean to scare you. You have all of us to protect you around the clock to make sure that you will always be looked after until the baby is born and soon after. I take it that Kei doesn't know the baby is a female?"
Kanako stood up and went back to her seat to sit down and collect her thoughts as she waited for a response.

She hesitated and nodded slowly in confirmation. “Not through official means, but I can sense it… Her. I’m not telepathic, but… There’s a connection there, if you know what I mean? I’m certain if we had the right equipment to check, it will confirm what I’ve said.” Misaki replied, still uncertain of why the baby’s gender was so significant to her. She blinked and looked up at the taller female who was currently overwhelmed with emotion. She squeezed her shaking hands comfortingly, eyes slowly growing wider as Kanako explained what was the status quo in her family. Kei had never mentioned any of this – not that there had been much time considering that they had only just reunited. She wondered if he would react like Kanako if she mentioned it to him too. Misaki shook her head negative in response to her question. “No, I haven’t told him yet. He wasn’t in the best condition last night.” She sighed, leaning heavily into the couch for support. It felt like everything was conspiring against her with this pregnancy. What other curve balls were about to be thrown her way? “Don’t you worry though, I will protect this child with my life. I’m certain Kei will to. He… He doesn’t strike me as the sort of person who will let that happen to our child.” She bit her lip, looking over at her hesitantly. “If you don’t mind me asking… What sorts of horrible things?” She needed to know as much as she can so she could protect her unborn baby from those who sought to hurt her. Misaki wasn’t naïve enough to believe that no one would ever harm a baby. There was a lot of wicked in the world, her child being the daughter of Kei Sinclair would have just painted a big target on her back. “It’s… I’m… But we won’t be protect her all the time. I can’t just wrap her up in bubble wrap and hope for the best. I don’t even think I can take her to the tenkai realm. Her heritage is too dangerous.” She whispered quietly. Even if she was the daughter of the Subhuman’s leader, the Council would not be lenient if they were to find out. “You don’t think she will have to live her life in the shadows? What do I do?”[/style][style=background-color: #2E2E2E;color:#090909;padding:5px; text-align:right] notes: [/style] |

we found each other in the dark Kei doesn't know.
As she sat there collecting her thoughts, she couldn't help but feel utterly obsessed with the notion to protect this child at all costs. It was clear to her that the heritage of this child will become even more forbidden in the future, and this was something that Kei had to deal with more so than anything, as if he doesn't already have things to deal with in the first place. She doesn't know of his intentions to change the ways of the Nephilim Sinclair's, but she knew that it wasn't going to be pretty. Not only that, but the Tenkai leader would never pass this opportunity up to seal any danger to the worlds. Nothing will ever be easy for him.
Kanako could not tell her why, or what danger befalls her child. It was up to Kei to made that decision for himself to explain that to her. "I cannot say. You will have to ask Kei when you see him again." Her cerulean eyes looked to Misaki. "Dangers will be too close for comfort, but knowing Kei, he plans to stop them before they even happen." How he does it, Kanako won't know. No one knows what goes on in her brother's mind, it's a central part of this entire world and she knows very well how fucked up everything has become over the past couple of years which put more pressure and stress on him as time trudges on. "Live her life in the shadows.." she mused to herself, looking down for a moment.
"No. Not this time. For now, she will have to until Kei says it's safe. I just hope he doesn't do anything stupid." It's true, even though Kei is a very smart man, his actions recently have become reckless, and she learns less and less of his plans as the years go on. "We will have to keep a close eye on you, I'm sorry if it becomes too intrusive, but we cannot risk anything happening to you or to your baby. I'm sure Kei had already set his plans to have consistent watch over you." Sighing, she flipped her hair behind her head, crossing her leg over her knee. "I'm sorry you're involved. Life is never easy in the Sinclair family, but you are protected and backed by those who are considered the strongest of the realm."
